Cabaret Artist André Hartmann Charms Embassy Audience

Hartmann as Udo Lindenberg Andr Hartmann
Performance: Hartmann slips from one character, Udo Lindenberg, for example, into another, adapting expressions and trademark accessories.

The talented young German musician and cabaret artist André Hartmann was enthusiastically received by a large audience at the German Embassy on October 30. Through his parodies of international celebrities such as Franz Beckenbauer, Udo Lindenberg and Elvis Presley as well as a variety of comedy sketches and puns, he kept spirits high during the evening performance.

Hartmann captivated the audience with his incredible ability to slip from one character into another, adapting the expressions, gestures, and dialect of these individuals with seemingly effortless ease, and his humorous references to contemporary German pop culture.

The highlight of the evening was the spontaneous musical game that he played with the members of the audience. Anyone present could request that he play a piece of music from their favorite composer, which Hartmann would then play for a while, before suddenly switching gears to play that same piece in the style of Bach, Mozart, or another composer of the audience’s choosing.

André Hartmann is currently touring in Germany with his one-man show, “Neid of the Proms.”
