Welcome to the German Consulate
General
Important notice for German passport applicants: Starting November 1, 2007 fingerprints have to be stored on a microchip in the passport and passport applications can only be submitted in person. For passport applicants new office hours have been introduced. We are expecting a high volume of passport applicants after the introduction of the new passport regulations. In order to avoid long waiting time we strongly recommend that you do -- not -- apply during the first couple of weeks after the implementation of the new regulations unless your current passport expires before the end of 2007. Beyond the network of diplomatic and consular missions Honorary Consuls provide further service and assistance. Please verify if there is an Honorary Consul in your area. (Please note that Honorary Consuls are not authorized to issue German Passports and German Visa.)
Here you will find information about business, economy, and our partners in our administrative district, as well as trade relations, German fairs, working in Germany, IT technology, and much more.
If you want to learn more about German culture and local cultural institutions or if you are interested in studying the language or in exchange programs, you will find the information here.
