Important notice for German passport applicants:

Starting November 1, 2007 fingerprints have to be stored on a microchip in the passport and passport applications can only be submitted in person.

For passport applicants

new office hours have been introduced.

We are expecting a high volume of passport applicants after the introduction of the new passport regulations. In order to avoid long waiting time we strongly recommend that you do -- not -- apply during the first couple of weeks after the implementation of the new regulations unless your current passport expires before the end of 2007.
